You are receiving the notice and the enclosed check as part of a settlement of a lawsuit brought under California Labor Code § 2699 et seq., the California Private Attorney General Act of 2004 (“PAGA”), styled Greissy Arellano v. Optum, Inc., et al., Los Angeles County Superior Court, Case No. BC704125 (the “Action”). The Court has authorized a third-party settlement administrator to send you the notice, and they have agreed to keep your contact information confidential.
In the Action, Plaintiff Greissy Arellano (“Ms. Arellano”) pursued a claim against Defendants Optum, Inc., UnitedHealth Group, Incorporated, and Optum Services, Inc. (hereinafter, “Defendants”) under PAGA, individually and on behalf of other non-exempt employees of Defendants. The Court has approved a Settlement on behalf of the following employees (“Aggrieved Employees”): all non-exempt employees of Optum Services, Inc. who worked at OptumCare Medical Group facilities (internal designation “Department 61855”) in California at any time between February 21, 2017 and January 10, 2020 (i.e., the “PAGA Period”). Employees who worked outside the OptumCare Medical Group business unit are not “Aggrieved Employees” as defined by the Settlement.
